FAQ
Q: How soon should I have my engagement photos taken?

A: I suggest at least 6 weeks prior to your wedding day. Turn around is two weeks so you should plan to have them in your hands at least 4 weeks before the wedding - 1 week to choose the photos and have them printed, and 3 weeks to get them out.

Q: How soon should I have my bridals taken?

A: If you want them to be a part of your wedding, then plan on at least 4 weeks beforehand. The photos can be ready in two weeks, but you'll need time to choose the photos and have them printed (usually at least a week and not strictly guaranteed).

Q: How much time should I plan on for photography?

A: Every wedding is different so times are varied. However, if you plan for one hour of pre and/or post-ceremony photography as well as one to two hours before the reception, you'll be on track.

Q: Do I get the "negatives"?

A: Yes, and you can do what you would like with them except make money off them (sell them, etc. - I reserve that copyright and give you an unlimited personal use license). You can print, email, copy, do virtually anything you want with them that is non-commercial.

Q: What are "negatives"?

A: The "negatives" are actually 8 MegaPixel (MP) digital files on CD. I find that a high-quality 8 MP file is more than sufficient for any printing needs up to 16 x 20 and possibly up to 20 x 24.

Q: Can I make copies of the CDs?

A: Yes, in fact I encourage you to make copies for relatives as well as back up.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: Yes, $100 on any wedding. It is payable by check.

Q: Is the deposit refundable?

A: Yes and no. Yes, if the cancellation is made 60 days prior to the event date. After that the deposit is non-refundable.

Q: Do you shoot with film or digital?

A: I shoot with a Cannon SLR digital camera. Digital technology has surpassed the quality of film in most every respect and it allows me to give you all the images on one or more CDs.

Q: Do you do black & white?

A: Yes. I shoot everything in color but you can choose to have photos printed in B&W. In other words any image that is in color can be adjusted into a beautiful B&W - especially if you have me do it - but no B&W image can regain full color. That's why I shoot color and make B&W a later option.

Q: Can you recommend places to have pictures taken?

A: There are several great places I know of to take photos and I'm happy to recommend a place. Since a good photographer with the right camera can take a great photograph virtually anywhere, we can go wherever you you would like.

Q: When can I expect to see my engagement/bridal photos?

A: Allow one week for online viewing and proofs. Formal prints and/or enlargements will take an additional week after images have been selected.

If you are in a terrible rush, we provide next-day service for a $50 fee (for either bridals or engagements).

Q: When can I expect to see my wedding photos?

A: You will receive proofs and the CD of image files (with which you and print at any lab) within two to three weeks after the event.
